"Grey's" Star Checked In to UCLA Psych Ward

TMZ has learned actor Justin Chambers, Dr. Alex Karev on "Grey's Anatomy," checked himself in to the psych ward at UCLA Medical Center this week. Yes, it's the same place ...

Chambers' rep confirmed to TMZ that star checked in on Monday and checked out yesterday.

The rep claims Chambers, a married father of five, was "exhausted and suffers from a sleeping disorder. He went in voluntarily to get some help."

Chambers was in the same ward where Britney is being treated.

25. #19. I think that is exactly what did it. Maybe he was afraid of trying sleeping pills (or maybe he already had them and was too afraid to continue them). I think Heath Ledger may be exactly what prompted this decision. Good for him.

28. If I was his wife: YOU'RE EXHAUSTED/SLEEP DEPRIVED?!?!?!?!? I'm the one raising 5 kids! Get your butt home!!!

That's why he was only there one night. Toughen up! Most moms are exhausted/sleep deprived - if we all checked into a psych ward, the world would end!

30. I think that it's awesome that he is taking care of himself and getting help for his issues. Too bad more celebrities don't do this and instead turn to illegal drugs & wind up dead-- or just lose their career over it.

I love Justin Chambers.. He is so hot. I hope he gets the help he needs.

But uhm, yeah. He has like 5 kids. Who wouldn't be exhausted?
